Pannenkoeken

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pannenkoeken are Dutch pancakes, yet unlike the usual American pancake, Pannekoeken are usually larger and thinner and sometimes incorporate slices of smoked bacon, or apple and raisins for example. Plain pannekoeken are often eaten with white or brown sugar. The ingredients are flour, milk, and eggs. Beer may also be added to the mixture in order to give it a better flavour, but most of all it helps air the pannekoek. In Dutch pancake restaurants there are many more things you can order on it, like eggs, pear, or even pineapple.

Pannenkoeken Huis (Pancake House) is a small restaurant chain in Minnesota. Pannekoeken is also the name of a restaurant in Fargo, North Dakota. De Dutch Pannekoek House is a small restaurant chain in British Columbia.
