PAMVIC in an acronym for Point, Aim, Muzzle, Vehicle, Instruct and Check which are the basic guidelines for handling weapons in the British Army Cadet Force (ACF).
- Point
- Never point a weapon at another person, even in jest.
- Aim
- Always aim your weapon in a safe direction at all times.
- Muzzle
- Never rest the muzzle of your weapon against another person or object.
- Vehicle
- Ensure that the weapon is empty and cleared before entering a vehicle.
- Instruct
- Never approach a weapon and only operate a weapon when instructed to do so.
- Check
- Check, check and check again that the weapon is clear and safe
