The Pale-browed Tinamou Crypturellus transfasciatus is a type of Tinamou found in dry forest in subtropical and tropical regions up to 1,500 m altitude. This species is native to west Ecuador and north-west Peru (on the Pacific slope to Lambayeque).

[edit] Characteristics
The Pale-browed Tinamou is approximately 28 cm in length. It is recognized by its greyish-brown coat above, finely vermiculated with black, throat white, remainder of underparts greyish to buffy, flanks barred. Crown brown, and prominent whitish supercilium. Its legs are pink in color.

The Pale-browed Tinamou is currently threatened by widespread deforestation and habitat degradation caused by livestock overgrazing. This species is also threatened by people hunting it for food.
