Palace Sports and Entertainment
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) is a sports and entertainment company owned by billionaire William Davidson.
The company owns the Detroit Pistons of the NBA, the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL, the Detroit Shock of the WNBA and the Asheville Tourists of minor league baseball's South Atlantic League. PS&E also owned now-defunct teams the Detroit Safari, Detroit Fury, and Detroit Vipers.
PS&E also owns and/or operates several venues including its namesake The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan and the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. Contrary to popular belief, Meadow Brook Music Festival on the Oakland University campus in neighboring Rochester Hills is not owned by Palace Sports and Entertainment, however the company is responsible in many aspects of operating the venue, ranging from booking preformances to having Palace security personnel work the events.
