Being a Shia does not make you the final arbiter of the Shia Islam article, and it certainly does not give you the right to falsify properly cited statistics, break wikilinks, or push your own POV by doing a mass addition of pbuh. Wikipedia functions at its best when editors from diverse backgrounds work together collaboratively in order to build consensus. If you would like to see massive changes made to this article, please propose them on its talk page first, as attempting to impose your will on the article has been viewed by multiple editors as being vandalism. --Kralizec! [edit] Duplicate Image:PAA-a1fffff.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:PAA-a1fffff.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hello. I noticed that you have been uploading a lot of images lately. Have you read Wikipedia's official Image use policy? Do you understand that when you use the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} license tag on an photo you upload to Wikipedia, you are saying that you took the photograph, you own the copyright of the photo, and you are releasing it under the GNU Free Documentation License so that anyone can copy, distribute, and/or modify the image freely? --Kralizec! [edit] Image source problem with Image:45527944 d2f4836160.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:45527944 d2f4836160.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:45, 30 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Happy New Year! The Helpful One (Talk) (Contributions) 15:45, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Karachi

Do you understand what we mean by "reliable sources"? If you don't, then it might help to read WP:Citing sources.

  • The list of sister cities was highly inaccurate because there were no reliable sources to show that any of those were actually sister cities of Karachi. I left the two (Port Louis and Shanghai) that have immediately available sources. All of the others may have various levels of agreements but this is not the same as a formal sister city. If you can find a reliable source which states that Dubai, Izmir and Jeddah are indeed sister cities of Karachi, then feel free to add this information.
  • The paragraph you added about the Agha Khan Hospital was very unencyclopedic - it makes extravagant claims and reads like an advertisement - before you reinsert this paragraph, make sure you have a reliable source for these claims.
  • The image of Shahrah-e-Faisal that you tried to add has been removed because it doesn't exist - please be more careful in future.
  • You complained about your images being deleted - it's because you claimed on the image pages that you took the photos when in fact you copied them from websites which credited other photographers.
  • Please stop adding that absurd list of shopping centres because we only have your word for their existence. Do you know how stupid it makes the article look? You complained about the article being spoilt by others but in fact you are the one who is spoiling it by repeatedly doing things against rules and conventions.

If you need more help, feel free to ask. Green Giant (talk) 15:38, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Response to message left on my talkpage

  1. I know the list has grown gradually but you seem to keep reinserting it without any explanation.
  2. The debate about Karachi being the second largest city is silly because people don't realize there is a difference between a city and an urban area. Karachi might be the second or third largest "city" but as an urban area it ranks about number twenty in the list. It is a very vague claim because none of the people who keep adding this information actually provide a source other than their personal knowledge - which for Wikipedia purposes is next to useless.
  3. Just so you are aware, I am very interested in improving the Karachi article to featured article standards but I spend more time trying to stop the problems such as when people insist that they know for a fact that Karachi the second largest city in the world. The article needs an appropriate number of good-quality and relevant images. Pictures like the one of the band playing somewhere should be on the article about the band, not on the Karachi article.
  4. The section about sites of interest mostly contained links which were better provided by the purple navigation boxes at the end of the article. If you leave them in as a long list it will make the article look bad.
  5. As to the problem of which pictures to include I have a solution - ROTATION using a template. Make a list on the Karachi talkpage of which images you think would be best for the article and we can set up a template to rotate the images regularly. Bear in mind that images should be good-quality and relevant to the article.
  6. Now is a good time to make sure that any images you have uploaded have the correct legal tag attached. Every one of your images so far has had the GFDL tag but some of the images were copyright and therefore needed the correct tags.
  7. If you are indeed permitted by urbanpk.com to use their images then you should either ask them to licence the images under the GFDL or if they cannot then at least send an email from that website giving limited permission to use the images.
  8. The problem is that if you don't fix that problem with Shahrah-e-Faisal now, someone else will find a good reason to either remove the image or change it themselves. It would be better if you recognise such problems early on.
  9. Also please sign your talkpage comments by adding four tildes after your message like this: ~~~~

Green Giant (talk) 16:23, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

When I say "urban area" I don't mean the various towns that Karachi is now divided into, but more the entire metropolitan area or conurbation of Karachi. As an example look at Tokyo, Japan - many people incorrectly think that the whole metropolitan area is called Tokyo city, and they don't realise there is a difference between the city and the metropolitan area. There is a "city proper" (prefecture) of Tokyo which comprises 23 special municipalities each with a mayor and an assembly (like the Karachi towns), as well as 26 cities, 3 towns and 1 village in Western Tokyo such as Ome and Tama. There are also many nearby towns and cities stretching around Tokyo Bay in the prefectures of Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama which combine to form the world's largest metropolitan area - Greater Tokyo, (35 million people and approximately 13,500 km²). In the case of Karachi the city grew outwards from the Sadr/Kiamari area and the city limits were regularly expanded, but the nearest town or city of any comparable size would be Hyderabad to the northeast. The case of Greater Tokyo is different in that there were several separate urban areas expanding at the same time which eventually merged into one another but the limits of Tokyo "city" have not been extended for some time now. This is why it is little vague to claim that Karachi is the second/third largest city in the world when the real comparison should be between metropolitan areas, where Karachi is about the twentieth largest metropolitan area.
If that comparison is a bit difficult to understand, then perhaps looking within Pakistan might be easier - take Islamabad-Rawalpindi as an example of a metropolitan area which grew from two separate cities to create one large urban area of more than 3 million people. Now consider this - which is the third largest city in Pakistan, after Karachi and Lahore? Some people would argue Faisalabad is the third largest but others would say Islamabad-Rawalpindi is the third largest urban area in Pakistan.
Another problem is that although some Karachiwalas are very eager to highlight the sheer size of the city, they sometimes come up with exaggerated figures of anything between 15 and 20 million. The city has grown from about 400,000 people at independence in 1947 to about 9 million at the 1998 census. I recall that the 1981 census showed a figure of just over 5 million and I believe that did not include the Afghan refugees. I find it difficult to believe that the population has increased by 10 million in nine years (1998-2007) when it increased by barely 4 million in the previous 17 years (1981-1998). I accept that there are many unregistered people in the city and obviously it is difficult to estimate their numbers. However, on Wikipedia we need figures from reliable sources and we cannot simply make educated guesses and therefore we have to go with census data or information from a reliable organisation like the UN. I hope that clarifies things a little.
By the way I am English but I have a longstanding interest in Pakistan, mainly because I have so many friends of Pakistani origin. I have been to many places in South Asia including Dilli, Rajasthan, Mumbai, and Goa and I have seen many of the usual tourist sights like the Lal Qila and the beautiful palace in Udaipur but I am fascinated by Pakistan because it lies off the tourist circuit - a little like the way India was before the hippies invaded. Also the tourists that go to Pakistan are less likely to be the drunken idiots that we British are infamous for. I have visited Pakistan five times in the last twelve years and been to Karachi on two occasions, the last time being August 2006. What I liked most about Karachi was the sheer variety of people I saw, reminding me of the sort of mix of people in London. The last time I was in Pakistan was for three months between July and September 2007 - when my wife and I were invited to my best friends wedding in Sarai Alamgir near Jhelum. We took the chance to visit many places near the GT Road including the superb Rohtas Fort. Our last three weeks there were spent in the beautiful Samani valley in Azad Kasmir, which reminded me of the Lake District here in England, but sadly we don't have as many trees as they do in Samani. Although the climate in Jhelum was hot, we found that Samani was actually quite mild and pleasant.

I hope that clarifies things a little - Green Giant (talk) 04:33, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kralizec! (talk) 00:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:49, 3 January 2008 (UTC).

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kralizec! (talk) 00:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stop uploading images that are not yours

I have spent the past hour deleting nearly two dozen copyrighted images that you downloaded from the Associated Press, Flickr, various corporate websites, etc. and attempted to pass them on as your own work via the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag. Your refusal to properly upload and license images puts Wikipedia at risk of violating international copyright law and wastes the time of many editors who must cleanup after you. Since you have ignored previous messages regarding your image uploads, I will be very succinct. If you upload additional copyrighted images, you will be blocked. --Kralizec! [edit] Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

I note your edits to the above article. I would like to point out that Shi'a is a denomination and not a religion. Bilawal's religion is Islam. Also, the website www.bilawalbhutto.pkis a fake and does merit inclusion in the article. WWGB (talk) 23:34, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Please weigh in on the talk page in response to WWGB's comment about the addition of Shi'a to the article box.--Alf melmac 21:06, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] February 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Benazir Bhutto. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. SMS Talk 12:52, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Benazir Bhutto, without explaining the reason for the removal in the edit summary. Unexplained removal of content does not appear constructive, and your edit has been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox for test edits. Thank you. [edit] Benazir Bhutto

Hello! Mr. Paki90, first think i would like to tell you is that i am not adding any info rather false or true in the article [[Benazir Bhutto]. Nor am i claiming anything about her. I am just adhering to neutral point of view and reverting your edits in which you are removing properly cited info. So i will also ask you to ahere to Neutral point of view. And please don't write my name wrong its "S M Sarmad" not "smssarmad"! Thanks! --SMS Talk 08:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your Userpage

Hello Paki90! I think you copied my user page but forgot to edit some links like the one to my contributions. Please edit it or let me do that! --SMS Talk 17:39, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Sure! I will be happy to help you out in making your userpage. And yes i was the one who reverted one of your edits at the article Benazir Bhutto sometime in February. Well the problem was that you removed a referenced info which is against the wiki guidelines. And seriously I don't know about her religion much, nor i claim that she was sunni or shia. I better suggest you to discuss this at the talk page of that article. --SMS Talk 08:04, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Can you please let me know what do you want to be on your userpage? This link Wikipedia:WikiProject User Page Help/Content Advice may help you. --SMS Talk 14:57, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop

Please cease your never-ending attempts to tag Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a Shi'ite. Your edits are unsourced and unhelpful. You have been asked on numerous occasions to desist. You have never explained why it is so important to make this distinction. Are you trying to maintain sectarian differences in Pakistan? WWGB (talk) 01:27, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.elections.com.pk/candidatedetails.php?id=715. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:40, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] April 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Yousaf Raza Gillani appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. SMS Talk 09:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Benazir Bhutto. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. SMS Talk 17:20, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Benazir and Yusaf Raza Gilani

Either come up with a source, because Wikipedia does not accept any Original Research, and as far as other heads of state's sect please be bold and remove it from the infoboxes. And about Benazir there are both sources present that she is shia and sunni, so this issue is controversial. And plz! do something constructive here, something else than changing religion in all biographies of Pakistanis. --SMS Talk 17:40, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Benazir Bhutto, you will be blocked from editing. SMS Talk 17:46, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

The source you provided isn't a reliable one, because it's a blog but it also contains a link to a Washington Post interview of Abida Hussain, in which she says that Benazir was sunni muslim(which is a reliable source). Actual thing is that you are changing the Religion with sect in the religion field of Biographic article's infoboxes. So please don't do this again. --SMS Talk 18:47, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] STOP YOUR VANDALISM

[edit] Sectarianism

I noticed that you were struggling against some editors to prevent them from sabotaging the articles about Shi'a politicians. I hope you can give your say and your testimony here. LahoreKid (talk) 22:22, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Dear Monaim, please have your say on the above mentioned article as your thoughts would shape up the policies for future assessment and non-NPOV or vandalism-ridden events on the articles you care the most. I would be highly grateful if you could address your concerns on the respective page. I'd be glad enough to hear from you. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 04:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
