The Pacific was a steamship with the Collins Line. She sailed from Liverpool on January 23, 1856, and disappeared with the two hundred and forty people on board. She was never seen again. Her wreck was located in 1991 in British waters off the coast of Wales. See Transatlantic: Samuel Cunard, Isambard Brunel, and the Great Atlantic Steamships, by Stephen Fox.
