Paşcani is a city in Iaşi County in the Moldova region of Romania on the Siret river. As of 2002, it has a population of 42,172.

The city derived its name from the estate of the boyar Oană Paşca. It is the city where Mihail Sadoveanu's novel The Place Where Nothing Happened takes place.

Pascani is today one of the most important industrial and business centres in Moldova (Romania).Among others, it hosts a lot of big companies in textil and industrial fields. The city experienced a decade of decline during 1990s, its international and national reputation suffering, but in the last years the situation changed dramatically, the city entering a period of rapid growth in term of economics and demographics. The city is headed by a mayor (primar ), currently Neculai Ratoi. Decisions are approved and discussed by the local council ( consiliu local). Beginning with 2007 Pascani has a new City Hall, this building has also some other functionalities.
