Ozier Muhammad

Ozier Muhammad is a photojournalist who is currently on the staff of The New York Times.

In 1984, Muhammad won the George Polk Award for News Photography[1].

As a photographer for Newsday, Muhammad won the Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting in 1985, along with the reporters Josh Friedman and Dennis Bell, for their series on the plight of the hungry in Africa.

Muhammad is a grandson of Elijah Muhammad, a founder of the Nation of Islam[2].

He was formerly married to Dr. Kimberly Muhammad-Earl, a director of special projects at the Chicago Board of Education[3].
