[edit] Summary

I took this photo from the top floor of Allermuir Court in January 2006 (shortly before the last 3 remaining residents were rehoused). The block has since been demolished and new low-rise housing is currently being built on the site. Below on Oxgangs Crescent, a small shopping precinct can be seen, this is also included in the regeneration programme and currently lies inactive (apart from a small Costcutter newsagent) and the houses above the shops are all now empty and boarded up. Further back, the Oxgangs Drive development can be seen, this was built in around 1963/64 and compromises of flats, bedsits and maisonettes (plus, 3 townhouses on the corner where Oxgangs Crescent meets Oxgangs Avenue). The long maisonette block in the centre of the scheme is called "Oxgangs House".
