From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Owen Thomas is a freelance anchor on CNN International, based in London. An established and experienced journalist, he worked for many years at ITN, presenting the ill-fated ITV News Channel, the networked ITV Morning News and the regional ITV programme London Tonight.
He spent a year presenting the news on the BBC World Service, and anchored the World Briefing programme on that station. Previously he worked for the English language service of Radio France Internationale based in Paris, France.
He used to present on the ITV News Channel before it closed down in December 2005. Faye Barker and Owen covered the last hour of the news channel.
Since joining ITN in 2001, he has broken some of the biggest national and international news. For years, he helped wake up the nation on BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat.
Owen now works for CNN International, acting as an anchor of CNN Today, CNN World News and Business International.
Owen's family are Welsh. He grew up in Nottingham but now lives in North London.
