Owen Davis

Owen Davis (b. January 29, 1874, Portland, Maine; d. October 14, 1956, New York, New York) was an American playwright and dramatist. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his 1923 play Icebound, set in Veazie, Maine. Davis lived until he was 15 in Bangor, Maine. He was remarkably prolific, writing 200 to 300 plays, and numerous radio and film scripts.

He was the father of actor Owen Davis, Jr.
