The oval electric ray or slender legged torpedo, Typhlonarke tarakea, is a numbfish of the family Narcinidae, found around New Zealand on the continental shelf. Its length is up to 35 cm.
The oval electric ray is a very small poorly-known electric ray. Coloration is dark brown.
