User talk:Outriggr/outdated.js

[edit] outdated.js
This script allows low-value date links to be arbitrarily formatted for display, usually to hide them or otherwise reduce their visual impact. Each user specifies their own formatting using CSS in their Special:Mypage/monobook.css.
[edit] To install
1. Add the following code to your Special:Mypage/monobook.js:
// [[User:Outriggr/outdated.js]]
importScript('User:Outriggr/outdated.js');
2. Add any appropriate CSS style to your Special:Mypage/monobook.css for the attribute "#content a.wikidate". The following example makes the date text black, and places a faint gray underline under the text so that its status as a link is still apparent:
#content a.wikidate {color:black; border-bottom:dotted thin #CCC}
The next example makes the date text black, period. You cannot tell that a link is present unless you hover over the text.
#content a.wikidate {color:black;}
[edit] Notes
- Years with fewer than three digits and years B.C. will retain standard formatting. This is easy to change, but of limited consequence, so I won't.
- Wikilinks that appear to be years but are piped to a "Year in foo" article will retain standard formatting.
