I just deleted a segment that said this album is not "free jazz". That paragraph was not neutral in that it presupposed a subjective and controversial definition (unstated) of what constitutes "free jazz". From the "Free jazz" wiki page: "There is no universally accepted definition of free jazz, and any proposed definition is complicated by many musicians in other styles drawing on free jazz, or free jazz sometimes blending with other genres. Many musicians also tend to reject efforts at classification, regarding them as useless or unduly limiting." Not to mention the fact that the current "free jazz" wiki lists "Out to Lunch" as a primary example of that sub-genre...
