[edit] Hammer and sickle?

What is the emblem of the Soviet Union doing on an award for the defense of freedom of expression? Is this barnstar trying to be ironic? – Morganfitzp 05:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I think it just refers to communists having the right to their views. And as I understand it, it is theoretically possible for a communist state to have freedom of expression. NeonMerlin 19:50, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
No it's not - the moment people have freedom of expression in Communist states, Communism ceases to exist. I'd like to see just one example to the contrary. -- I. Pankonin (t/c) 01:27, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
