Our Kid was the name of a band that was first discovered on the TV show New Faces winning the show on 1 May 1976. They had a number two chart hit in 1976 with "You Just Might See Me Cry", which peaked on 29 May 1976. Further singles "I can't live without you" and "Romeo and Juliet" were not successful. The band came from Liverpool and consisted of four boys in their early teens. The lead singer was Kevin Rowan (born in 1964), Kevin left the band and was replaced by Frankie Jones. The other members were Brian Farrell (born 1963), Terry McCreith (b. 1961) and Terry Baccino (b. 1961), (who replaced original member David Newall (b. 1965) who left the band two weeks before New Faces to concentrate on a new band called "Young World" with fellow members Ian McNabb and Chris Sharrock (who went on to form The Icicle Works. David still performs today with top international corporate showband "Spy Candy" and he can be found on their website.) Our Kid appeared in summer season at Great Yarmouth, but had to stop performing due to their manager being unaware of child employment laws, causing them to exceed the maximum allowable working hours.
