Osteomalatia - dominant X-linked, sex linkage.
Vitamin D-resistant rickets or osteomalatia: The ability of the kidney tubules to reabsorb filtered phosphate is injured. The disease is characterised by abnormally high urinary excretion of phosphate, glucose, amino acids, water, bicarbonate and some unusual sustances, such as ketone bodies and glycine. There may be deposition of cystine crystals in the liver, bone marrow, and anterior chamber of the eye, or pure renal tubular acidosis.
