This is a photo of a map by the Ordnance Survey, under the supervision of Henry James (Ordnance Survey), of the City of Southampton. In this image you can see the main Ordnance Survey buildings on the lower left hand corner. Also you can see the photography building or glass house which is the blue looking building about half way up the left hand side of the picture. The map was published in 1865 by the Ordnance Survey.

This work is in the public domain because it is an Ordnance Survey map over 50 years old. Ordnance Survey maps are covered by crown copyright which in this case expires 50 years after publication. Ordnance Survey does however ask that they be credited and that the date of publication be given.
