Osiedle

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the Polish system of local administration, an osiedle is a designated subdivision of a city or town, or of a dzielnica, with its own council and executive.

Not all Polish cities or towns have osiedles in the above sense. However the word osiedle is also frequently used to denote a housing estate or development. (It sometimes appears in addresses, where the abbreviation Os. is normally used.)
