Talk:Oryol
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Orel → Oryol - To reverse current redirect. Oryol more common spelling in media, also the name in other Encyclopedias, also reflects correct pronunciation. An issue of context usage, like "Orella" used in DE WW2 literature is to be decided separately case by case. Please vote below --Irpen 21:01, August 26, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Name
If Fyodorov, should this be Oryol rather than Orel? --Irpen 01:09, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
- Definitely should be. I don't even think it's worth discussing; to me, Oryol is pretty obvious, especially considering that the oblast article is at Oryol Oblast.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 18:43, August 20, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky
Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky does not discuss his connection to Oryol. According to polish historian Nicieja there were many prisoners active in the Oryol prison http://outbox.magres.net/hosting/board.php?boardset=9986_FORUM&grupa=9986_FORUM_LBC&msgid=66966. Xx236 13:59, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
