I am a native of the UK. I studied Japanese, Japanese history and politics at university.

I am most likely to contribute to articles about Japan, including those to do with Hida and Kobe, where I have lived.

I practise the Japanese martial art of iaidō (Musō Jikiden Eishin-ryū), and I may also contribute to articles related to this. Although I have trained in Japan, my technical and historical knowledge is not on a very high level. I do, however, have a fair degree of practical experience and a solid basic knowledge of the art.

I am also a very junior student of Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū under the seitō (Fukuoka) line. I have a keen interest in the classical martial traditions of Japan, and also in gendai arts such as kendo.

I am a big fan of wagyu, preferably eaten raw.
