[edit] Please be respectful in your edits and comments

This is no doubt going to be a controversial topic on what to include and what not to include, and then the same goes for what to include and what not to include in Carnatic music. However, please always show respect for others edits, comments, and assume good faith with all that are concerned. Please also ensure that edits comments and proposals comply with Wikipedia's policies, guidelines and procedures.

I also request that editors take a basic approach when dealing with content in this article. If an editor adds information that for some reason, you believe is either incorrect or without a reliable source (or something), please add the appropriate tag next to this content, so that the editor who added this material, as well as yourself, discusses it. Please don't delete sourced material calling it irrelevant (unless it is obvious - eg; adding information about the election in America to this article). This is to avoid edit warring. If you find a tag is inappropriate on content you have added, please again discuss it here rather than reverting.

The purpose for creating this article is perhaps, unusual, as it was to elaborate what is contained in the relevant section in the Carnatic music article and to make it easier to sift what should be included in the summary-style Carnatic music article, and what shouldn't be. This isn't a voting process. I am of the opinion that the first two paragraphs (in terms of text) will stay as is in the Carnatic music article, as it forms a more accurate picture and well written introduction, although more sources may be added. It is what precedes this, that needs to be elaborated here. New sections would probably also need to be added. Hopefully, this assists in resolving the main dispute.
