This flag must be incorrect, because in 1923 the Soviet Union was made of the Russian SFSR, Transcaucasian SFSR, Ukrainian SSR and Belorussian SSR. The Soviet national emblem in the flag's center is the 1958 version, since it shows 15 ribbons envolving the ears of wheat, with the inscription "Workers of the world, unite!" in the 15 languages of the Union republics in 1958. Since in 1923 there were only 6 official languages (Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Georgian, Armenian and Turko-Tartarian), there should be only 6 ribbons covering the ears of wheat. If nobody has any objections, I'm going to edit this banner, replacing the coat of arms presently shown with the 1923 coat of arms (five ribbons, as opposed to 15 presently shown). If anyone has any objections, please note them now.24.183.178.138
