Organ quartet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are two possible interpretations for the term Organ Quartet:

  • 4 players playing on the same organ instrument (8 hands, 8 feet)
  • 4 players playing on four distinct (electronic) organs.

The first known organ quartet for one instrument is the Organ Quartet "Chant d'Oiseaux", founded in year 1995 by Maria Valeria Briganti, teacher of organ and composition at the Conservatory of Napoli (Italy).

A know organ quartet for four distinct instruments is the The Philadelphia Organ Quartet
