[edit] Untitled

Andromeda Black was a Slytherin and here is the proof; many say that while Slughorn said all the Blacks were in Slytherin (excusing Sirius) many say her may have well retired by that point. I however beg to differ - Slughorn was, according to Molly Weasley, at school when she was, Slughorn states in HBP, chapter four, he taught Sirius and Regelus, and in the next to last chapter said he taught Snape. We know they are younger than Andromeda, and as a student went by the surname 'Black'.

That is a really good point, I have to say. Can't we just settle for belief that there is a good Slytherin?.

I know we're trying to avoid plot speculation on talk pages, but Im enamoured by the theory that Tonks is so clumsy because she's not used to the body she appears in in the books. --Kizor 01:21, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

An intresting theory, but it is one of those thigns that might have been (or likley was) a nice neat little detail that JKR thought of when building the character but that will never make it into the books. Its a good bit of extra detail for a fan-fic related to Tonks, but not really wikipedia type material. Cool idea though. Dalf | Talk 05:01, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I know that Andromeda Black was in Slytherin, but she likes to enjoy with Muggle-born Wizard. She hates Black Family's prejudition(Against Muggle-born). From this Point, Could She also be Good Slytherin? I think that Andromeda could be second good slytherin as much as Horace Slughorn(Current, Former Potion Teacher, Head of Slytherin). That's my own opinion. Daniel5127, 02:52, 19 April 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Her House

Excuse me everybody, do you know which house Tonks was in? I don't know why JK Rowling didn't tell us her house. If she already told us her house, I would put it. Maybe her house is Gryffindor or Slytherin? Or Ravenclaw? But please, don't edit her house until we get more information about it. Even I don't know but I can guess. Anyways.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.138.167.72 (talkcontribs)

The excessive abuse of the shift key was starting to annoy me. Lila 09:45, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I want to know the proof of her being in Hufflepuff personally. I think its kind of suiting but... where did we learn this? StupidFrog 04:46, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

How about from JK herself? Check here:[1] :) --Cabiria 06:10, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Weatherman

I removed the sentence of Ted Tonks possibly being the weatherman from book 1, as there's no evidence but their first name. If there are objections, please leave them here. Rain74 11:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ted Tonks

[edit] Picture

Shouldn't we put in a picture of her from the Order film?

[edit] Use of "tonks" in film

I remember her being called "tonks" at some point in the film, before being called nymphadora.

[edit] Teddy Remus Lupin

Teddy was not raised by Harry. Remember, Harry was only seventeen when Tonks and Lupin were killed and Teddy's grandmother, Andromeda, was still alive. So she was probably the logical guardian. On page 757 (American copy), Harry says, "[Teddy] already comes round for dinner about four times a week... [w]hy don't we just invite him to live with us and have done with it?".

Harry, by inference, took his responsibility as a godfather very seriously. While Andromeda raised her grandson, Harry certainly provided a good male role model for Ted. Regardless of what little Lily said, Ted was family already; marrying into the extended Weasley family would be nice, but if he made a muggle match, the Potters wouldn't have loved him less.

[edit] Hair Colour and Eye Colour

What on Earth?! Eye colo(u)r and hair colo(u)r are missing from all HP characters; how, when and why?

I have no idea about the other characters, but it's kinda pointless to wrote it about 'Dora since she can change it at her will Diana Prallon 05:33, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Shouldn't her name be changed to "Nymphadora Lupin" since she married Remus Lupin?

Please don't put new threads in the middle of old ones. And no we shouldn't change it. Please look at Hermione Granger's or Ginny Weasley's page where you will find the issue discussed in depth. asyndeton 18:17, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kingsley Shacklebolt was not in the original OotP

I could be wrong, but I think this paragraph implies that Kingsley was a "new addition" to the order (from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Scholastic edition, page 95):

“We've managed to convince a couple of people, though,” said Mr. Weasley. “Tonks here, for one — she's too young to have been in the Order of the Phoenix last time, and having Aurors on our side is a huge advantage — Kingsley Shacklebolt's been a real asset too. He's in the charge of the hunt for Sirius, so he's been feeding the Ministry information that Sirius is in Tibet.”

(Bold text is mine).

To me, that means that Kingsley Shacklebolt is a new addition to the order. If no one disagrees, I will change the though it is never stated if Kingsley was part of the original Order of the Phoenix to but it appears that he was not part of the original Order of the Phoenix.

"Kingsley Shacklebolt is an Auror who works for the Ministry of Magic, as double agent for the Order. He is in charge of the search for Sirius Black in the Ministry, and has been feeding the Ministry information that Sirius is in Tibet. "

Shouldn't the tense be changed to past as he no longer has this task as Sirius is dead and he is now involved in watching the PM? Countmippipopolous 05:33, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

  • Since when has Sanuel L. Jackson been Kingsley Shacklebolt????? Dan 18:06, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

  • The pic of Samuel L. Jackson is back again.... so I will be removing it again.... it has no relevance to Kingsley Shacklebolt (if he will be portraying him in the next film then back the picture up with some form of verification. Dan 15:31, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possible Merger?

  • I think this article should be considered for merger to the Minor Members of the Order of the Phoenix. I don't think he features prominently enough or to warrant his own article nor is there enough relevant information to flesh out an article. Death Eater Dan 19:25, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I am going to do it as its obvious. As per WP:FICT major characters to have own page only.--Dacium 04:47, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree, his article should be removed and added to the Minor Members article, as he is not that important in the story. Lord Opeth 18:13, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I dont think you should do that now, as he was quite an important character in DH Loopywelshemz 21:18, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blood purity

he is Pure-blood, right? --Andersmusician VOTE 00:46, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

It's never said, but since he wasn't on the run in the final novel, it's highly unlikely that he was Muggle-born. Therefore, he could either be half-blood or pure-blood. --AgentPeppermint 01:24, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] House

  • What house was Kingsley in, if mentioned at all? 19:17, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
  • It's possible that he never went to Hogwarts. 69.125.25.64 02:06, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
