OCTA's customer service line is great for finding out schedule information, but not much else. I'm still trying to find out about future plans for night owl service. I'm starting a wiki specifically for OCTA, focusing mainly on the system's routes. Using MediaWiki as the base as well. Linking to it over here for now. Contributions would be greatly appreciated, but until it's a little more populated I'd prefer to keep the link over here.

Memory leak. It's a nuisance, not a crisis. Basically had to restart the server to clear out the buffers and such. It's been back, I just have to restart Apache periodically to clear out the crud and it's good as new. --Dennis The TIger 01:41, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone know what happens if a third cyclist tries to board the bus?


If a third cyclist attempts to board a bus, he will be forced to wait for then next bus. This is not a big deal on the majo routes, but is a hassle on routes that operate with frequencies between 30-60 min. Sometimes, if there is another route nearby that will take you to your same destination, the driver will tell you where to go.
Almost. If it's the last bus for the day, the driver will typically allow the third cyclist on board with the bike, as long as the cyclist keeps control on the bike (IE, doesn't let it all over the aisle). Strictly speaking, the driver isn't really allowed to do this, but it's not so grevious a violation as (say) running hot or skipping stops.

Is the CenterLine dead? If so, how is this possible? Didn't Measure M provide funding for a light rail line?

The centerline is dead, and has been dead since spring 2005. See the article. However, the "Son of Centerline" is alive and well. OCTA is now going to spend $1.2B on a train system that must span two cities. Sounds like another boondoggle to me.
Do you have any more information about this "Son of Centerline" project? Links would be greatly appreciated.

What happened to the Rapid Bus projects announced a few years ago? They were supposed to run on the same lines as today's Night Owl buses.

Route 794 seems to be one of the first. See OCTAWiki for route information.

Will Route 29 ever get Night Owl service? If not, why not? It's one of the busiest routes in the system, almost as busy as Route 43.

...ask customer service?
Tried, several times. Nobody has an answer. I heard that Huntington Beach doesn't want it. Does anyone know if this is true?
