Oranjegekte (orange craziness) is a phenomenon in the Netherlands that occurs during Queen's Day, international football championships and sometimes at other sporting events. The most important characteristic is the colour orange that dominates the street scene with flags and banners, clothing and even ordinary consumer goods.
Orange is the symbolic colour of the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange-Nassau.
