The Orange-headed Parrot (Gypopsitta aurantiocephala) or Bald Parrot is a species of parrot in the family Psittacidae. It was formerly placed in Pionopsitta which is now monotypic. It is endemic to the eastern Amazon River system of Brazil. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

This parrot was initially believed to be a juvenile of the Vulturine Parrot due to the orange coloration of its bald head as opposed to the black of the Vulturine. However, when it was discovered that the individuals were sexually mature, they were described as a new species.[1]

The Orange-headed Parrot is a small, green parrot with a bald, orange head.[1] The species is believed to be in some danger of extinction, as the forests along the middle Tapajos and lower Madeira rivers are being destroyed by loggers.[1]
