"Ultimately Francisco Franco, the dictator of Spain, declined to join the Axis Powers after Adolf Hitler refused to give Gibraltar and French North Africa to Spain."

Is this true? I was under the impression the reason was that during the talks between Franco and Hitler, Franco made too many demands for food and materiel. AllGloryToTheHypnotoad (talk) 23:47, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
