Not all of the attacks on Rabaul were part of Operation Cartwheel. At first I tried to do a different article called "Siege of Rabaul" that only addressed the air campaign against Rabaul. However, upon further review, it's evident that a lot of the air attacks were included under Cartwheel and shouldn't be addressed separately. Therefore, I'm re-establishing a separate article for the U.S. Navy carrier attacks on Rabaul (Carrier raid on Rabaul) from the land-based air attacks on Rabaul that were part of Cartwheel. Sorry for the confusion. Cla68 14:33, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
