[edit] OpenTV criticism/Lack of openness
I don't understand this sentence, "OpenTV SDK tools are guided by GPL like OpenTV compiler (GCCO) and linker (LDO) but OpenTV doesn't publish SDK tools source-code for community." I think that the author is trying to say, "OpenTV SDK tools such as the compiler (gcco) and linker are distributed under the terms of the GPL. OpenTV violates the GPL by not making the source code of this software available."
There are a couple of problems here. First, the grammar is so bad as to completely obscure the message. Two, the author appears to believe that the GPL requires a redistributor to make source code available to "the community", which is not true.
(Please note that I work for OpenTV, but I'm writing this out of personal interest, and not in any official capacity. Also note that I'm a big fan of the GPL and the FSF.) Peterhutnick 15:02, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
