Operation Kindness

Operation Kindness, founded in 1976 in Carrollton, Texas, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the oldest and largest no-kill animal shelter in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Its income is derived from donations.

On average, 150-200 animals are cared for daily in the shelter. Sixty to 80 more animals are placed in foster homes, meaning over 2,500 pets are adopted annually.

According to its website, Operation Kindness was established in 1976 to give care to "unwanted cats and dogs in a compassionate, no-kill environment until they are adopted..." and to promote " humane values through education and awareness."
