Operation Bayshield is an irreverent machinima film made using the Quake game engine. It was recorded by a Quake deathmatch clan known as Clan Undead during a New Year's Eve party, and released in January 1997. It was one of the first pieces of machinima produced after United Ranger Films began recording films in Quake themselves.
[edit] Plot
The plot revolves around an anti-terrorist task force deployed to eliminate a group of terrorists (presumably of Middle-Eastern origin) who have stolen an MMX chemical bomb and intend to detonate it inside the United States. They discover that the terrorists are staying at a hotel in Vancouver and plan to 'take them out' before they can carry out their mission.
The film employs an irreverent, anarchic sense of humour, coupled with a map created especially for the film, a new feature for a machinima production. This was also the first machinima to employ lip-movements for some of the characters.
