Open Hand is a Californian indie rock band. The band was formed in Hollywood in 1999 by guitarist/vocalist Justin Isham, bassist Michael Anastasi and drummer Alex Rodriguez. They released two EPs on its own American Propaganda label, Radio Days (1999) and Evolutions (2000). After touring to support the two EPs with the bands Thursday, MxPx, From Autumn To Ashes, Grade and The Juliana Theory, they signed with Trustkill Records in 2002. In 2003, Trustkill issued The Dream, a collection of the band’s out of print EPs. They released the album "You and Me" in 2005, and have been touring through 2007.

[edit] New line-up
After the release of You and Me in Spring of 2005, Breanne Martin (formerly of L.A. band, Quarter Life Crisis) joined the band and has remained a member.
Open Hand looks to have a new line-up according to their Myspace page. Justin Isham remains but the other 3 members from their previous album are not mentioned. The new line-up is:
- Justin Isham
- Breanne Martin
- Jason Gerken
- Paul Malinowski
- Matt Talbott
The bass player position had yet to be confirmed, although recently Ryan Castagna has been playing live. Pho, formerly of Red Animal War, has been both rumored and confirmed, and the latest rumors say that Paul Malinowski, formerly of Shiner and who played bass on and helped produce Open Hands last album, You And Me, will be playing for them. If the last rumor is true, this means one half of Shiner will now be in Open hand.
Before their 2007 spring tour of the USA, Open Hand confirmed the line-up of Justin Isham on guitar and vocals, Breanne Martin on keyboards and vocals, Paul Malinowski on bass, former bassist Ryan Castagna on guitar(now replaced by Matt Talbot) and Jason Gerken on Drums. Their current line-up seems to be solid and will be their touring line-up as well in 2008. They are recording a new album for release in 2008. It's expected to be their finest material to date.
