One of the best things about Wikipedia is running into high-quality articles on obscure topics I'd never have thought to look up if I didn't happen to blunder into them on peer review, FAC, some random blue link, etc. I've kept an incomplete list in my head for a while, but that's a terrible place to keep it. In no particular order:
- Frank Macfarlane Burnet
- Charles Darwin - okay, I would've read this eventually and it's not obscure, but it's such a monumentally excellent job on such a difficult subject
- West Wycombe Park
- Mom and Dad
- Seabird
- Oroonoko
