Union Pacific Railroad #3935, a type 4-6-6-4 Challenger class steam locomotive, hauls train No. 717, the Los Angeles Challenger across the Pasadena Junction in Los Angeles, California on August 1, 1940.

This image (call number OP-18385) is from the collection of the photographs of the late Otto Perry (b.1894, d.1970) held at the Western History Department of the Denver Public Library (http://photoswest.org/), and is copyrighted. The department actively encourages fair use of its images for educational purposes.
