[edit] History
The site was created by Tammam Yamout and Osama Shamseddine in the summer of 2006. The lack of funding and time dedicated to the project delayed the release until March 2008.
[edit] Concept
The site's concept is based on averaging user opinion[1] through an algorithm that takes into consideration the rank of the item verses the number of users that have re-ranked the list. It is different from other "top" sites as it takes into account the "top 11" items of any given topic rather than only the "top 10"[2]. The site is acclaimed for its well designed interface and functionality[3] which helps is stand out from similar sites.
[edit] Criticism
Many criticize the site for not having proper security in place to stop users from re-ranking the list multiple times and for not allowing users to suggest their own items within lists.
