Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat

The Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat in the Canadian province of Ontario is responsible for developing and implementing corporate Aboriginal policy, negotiating land claims, issuing land claim negotiation mandates, approving Indian settlements, co-ordinating economic development and self-government negotiations. The Minister responsible for Native Affairs represents the Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat in Queen's Park.
The Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat was expanded to become its own Ministry on October 30, 2007, called the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs.
The current Ontario Minister of Aboriginal Affairs is the Honourable Michael Bryant.
