Talk:Online reputation

[edit] Wikipedia's role

I'm pretty sure the section doesn't belong in this article. It refers to people's reputation being dragged down by their Wikipedia articles - and it doesn't seem to go with the text above it. What I mean is this article starts off talking about the concept of one's reputation as it applies to the "online world" while the section then talks about "real" people's reputation online.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there's a difference between "online reputation" and "reputation online". For the purpose of discussion and reaching consensus I've posted about it here. --WikiSlasher 12:59, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

I've removed it. --WikiSlasher 00:32, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removed section from main page

I removed the following paragraph from the main page

"History has it that the player with the worst online reputation to date, with an average rating of over 83%, is Lyle Freeland who resides in the prison town of Florence, Arizona. "

This was uncited, appears on its face to be a personal attack, potentially libelous, and doesn't even make sense (what does 83% mean?)

If this was removed in error, I apologize: please cite it and add more context so it is understandable.
