I teach a course on Online Health Communities at Tufts University School of Medicine. I took most of the text that I posted here from the announcement of my Tufts course (internal website) and from the announcement of a seminar I am offering in January 2007 at http://bostonchi.org/seminars2007jan/jan07seminars.html. I wrote this text myself. Furthermore, this is a growing area, with thousands of communities in existence or springing up online, such as weightwatchers.com, health.yahoo.com/groups, healthboards.com, clinicahealth.com, etc. (I didn't list all these in the article because I didn't want to be promoting any specific ones.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lisaneal (talkcontribs)
