An online football manager is a browser based Football (soccer) Management MMOG. The basic concept of the online version of the game is not dissimilar to the console concept (see football manager). The key differences between a browser based football manager and the console version is that the afore mentioned is usually free. Another major difference is that until recently, in the console (offline) version players could only play against the computer. Online football managers offer players the ability to face other human players in league and cup format.
[edit] How to Play
Every online football manager is slightly different. In general the game starts by giving the player a squad of players, usually based on real-life teams. The player can manage these players by selecting a first 11, setting tactics and formations, buying and selling players as well as training the players to improve their respective abilities. Matches are automatically simulated, day by day, in a generic football season format. .
[edit] The Future
As the web advances online football managers are becoming more technologically advanced. There are many new browser based Java games, offering the ability to monitor the game live and make changes as the match proceeds.
