It could be the case of the French dub, but I assure you I saw all the series aired only on 7 Gold (RAI is too damn a Vatican slave to air such an anime) and this is confirmed by the italian site linked in this page (I checked it to be sure there were no extra or however unaired episodes)... 84.220.119.29 21:31, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Third

Where did that come from? The tale of Genji is mentioned in the anime but it isn't based on it.

I believe this is a reference to the "recap" episodes. You can see them listed on the Anime News Network database under the "Comment" section. ANN entry There it lists:
