My name is Nick Steele. I'm a 28 year old married white male middle-class web and applications designer currently living in New Jersey, USA.

I was home-schooled near Chicago, IL, USA. I grew up (while living with my parents) as a Catholic, then Jehovah's Witness and after turning 18 I stopped following any religion, but still research them. My Dad was killed in a car accident when I was 19, he was labeled with with paranoid schizophrenia and was quick to assume everything about the engines that drive things (he was crazy). My mother is obsessive and also paranoid (but not crazy). I had what may be considered "an abusive childhood" but I personally don't really care.

I really like to learn. I prefer it over games, movies, sports, etc. I listen to lectures from the Teaching Company, The Modern Scholar and Princeton's open education project quite a bit.

I like to research and confirm things to the point where I need to buy a high powered microscope, mass spectrometer and micro scale to get through a chemistry book. I get obsessed with things until I am out of basic questions. I try to do everything I can at least once.

I'm very mellow and nothing really bothers me except injustice. I have 2 children and a wife that I love a lot.

I enjoy Wikipedia and have been reading it since it's beginning. I created an account after feeling guilty that just donating money each year was not enough. I try to contribute when I am sure I can do more good then harm. I sincerely hope that I can contribute in a positive way.
