Oneglia

Oneglia was a town in northern Italy on the Ligurian seaside that was joined to Porto Maurizio to form the Commune of Imperia in 1923.
Oneglia was important for olive oil, agriculture, and manufacturing.
The seat of ancient settlement known as Ripa Uneliae, in modern times it was part of the feuds of Doria Family (a noble family of Genoa). The famous admiral Andrea Doria was born here. Starting from 1576, an enclave of House of Savoy within the Republic of Genoa until the unification of Italy.
