One Cell in the Sea is the first album from singer-songwriter and self-taught pianist, A Fine Frenzy. It was released July 17, 2007. The album debuted at #158 on the Billboard 200.

The album garnered generally favorable reviews. Alyse Wax of Blogcritics described the album as "haunting, delicate, lyrical, atmospheric, and moving... a strong debut." Likewise, Entertainment Weekly praised the album's "breathless" melodies.

However, Marisa Brown of All Music Guide was less receptive. While commending Sudol's voice and lyrical ability, she summed the album up as "unremarkably dull." Similarly, William Wills of the blog Autinist attacked the album's "mediocrity," but acknowledged that the album "shows she has a ton of potential and talent." Another thing that many of the reviewers have said is that she tries too hard to be a profound lyricist, which may have been her main downfall.
