Opened in 1991, One America Plaza is located in the heart of the waterfront district of Downtown San Diego. Designed by world-renowned architect Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn Architects and Krommenhoek/McKeown & Associates, One America Plaza rises thirty-four floors above the harbor. The obelisk-shaped tower stands exactly 500 feet tall and is a prominent fixture in San Diego's skyline.
One America Plaza is owned by The Irvine Company.
The America Plaza trolley transfer station is located on the ground floor of the building between the main building and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
