Once Upon A Long Ago is a Paul McCartney song, released as his fortieth single on November 1987, as part of his compilation "All the Best", released two weeks before the single. The track was produced by Phil Ramone and mixed by George Martin, and features violin by Nigel Kennedy.
The single reached #10 in the UK charts. It became McCartney's last Top 10 in his homeland. In the U.S. the single was not released, and even not included on the local version of "All the Best". The song, then, remained unreleased until 1993 when was included on an extended version on the "Paul McCartney Collection" edition of Press to Play. The B-side for the British single, "Back on My Feet", written by McCartney and Elvis Costello, was included also on the "Paul McCartney Collection" edition of Flowers in the Dirt.
