Historical back ground : In the heart of the Village "Kote" or stone walled protection structure built around 800 years by some Palegara (County Head) . The remains of this structure still exists .
The famous temple "Sri veerabhadreshwara " located here and though its small ,people of this village took almost 15 year to complete. its not conventional structure as compared to other temple.
Most of the people belongs to Lingayath Community ( 85%) and remaining are from other castes .
This village is located on the back water of Shanthisagar or commonly called as Soolekere .Its about 11 Kms from nearest town Channgiri and 15 km from Santhebennuru.
Since 10 years ,this village progressed very well due to Beatle nut farms which is the main economic crop and other cultivations.
Most of the Villagers are educated (literacy is about 90%) and people holding good jobs in Govt and private firms.
