Shaun Carland If I were to hike up a mountain, this is what I would bring: A water purification system-Water is one of the most vital things to human existence. Humans may be able to last weeks without water, but they can only last days without water. Unfortunately, carrying water would be burdensome. Fortunately, mountains have vast amounts of water in them, which must be purified in order to drink it. I can save lagniappe space for other items that I will need, and I will be able to harness the water. A Radio Cell Phone/Crank Charger-While I am hiking on my own, I can have support and people to help me without them actually having to be there. I can use the cell phone to call for assistance and emergency handling, while at the same time to be able to converse with those I feel amity for. The radio can enlighten me on the upcoming weather changes and climate changes. I would be bringing a hand crank charger just incase my battery runs out, and I can use it without electricity. Purel Hand Sanitizer-Hiking on a mountain will cause me to come in contact with some…well…some uncouth things. If I don’t make sure my hands are sterile, then I could easily become sick on my journey. In order to make sure that my vigor is well in shape, I will need to cleanse my hands before I eat or drink anything. Carrying around soap would be unconditional-as it would desiccate very expeditiously, and wasting beneficial water would be unconditional, purel hand sanitizer can cleanse my hands without wasting soap or water. Two sets of clothes-I would bring two sets of clothes with me as I climb the mountain. Of these two sets of clothes, I would bring two pairs of underwear, four pairs of socks, two pairs of sturdy pants, two t-shirts, two long sleeved shirts, two sweaters, a jacket, a hat, two pairs of mittens, and a scarf. Clothing is the solitary defender from the weather, so I must be ready to protect myself. Hand warmers-Hands are the most sensitive parts of the body, and they also usually cause the most irritation. By using hand warmers I protect the most sensitive parts of my body, my hands, from the harm of mother nature. Snowshoes-Snow greatly reduces my speed and productivity, while making me wet and fridged. If I want to keep maximum efficiency, I must wear snowshoes to get through the snow. The snowshoes can let me travel through snow with a breeze, and I will be needing them especially when I am climbing higher up into the mountain, or when I am climbing up slopes. A Reflective Blanket and Tent-Shelter is a must for any situation. The tent will provide me shelter and a roof over my head, and just to make sure I do not get extremely cold during the night, I will be providing myself with a reflective blanket. A reflective blanket absorbs heat and insulates it, so I can be sure I will be snug through the night.
