Frankincense trees (?) in Dhofar region, Oman. (If someone familiar with the matter could confirm this is indeed frankincense I would be grateful. Thanks).

the trees are not Frankincense Trees (Boswellia Sacra). Your example is growing in a grassed area (dried off in January ) with a termite mound at its base with possibly some sort of Ficus to the right - where as Frankincense does not grow in such areas. The bark and leaves of a B. Sacra are also different in colour and general form to your tree.

Your tree might be a member of the Ziziphus genus. - Tony Walsh (I can readily replace the image with B.Sacra)
